It is getting harder and harder for TV-Call-In Shows in UK

We already have our own experience in that matter. ISCTIS as the onmipresent watchdog has already taken care of all remaining self-confidence of the British telecom providers. In our case a simple "request for details" (neither a formal nor informal inquiry, just a letter) was enough to immediate kill some numbers used for a completely clean show (and to hold over 40.000 € in payouts for an indefinite time).

Now it will get harder for TV-show producers again: ICSTIS has announced that it is to carry out a review of the quiz TV sector. Announcing the review at the regulator’s recent Industry Forum in Birmingham, ICSTIS Director George Kidd said: “Our recent monitoring of quiz TV programming, combined with evidence from complaints, has highlighted a number of issues that need to be explored with the industry and others.

“Services that use premium rate as a form of payment need to be clear on the cost of taking
part and transparent as to how the services work."
